Geoff Shepard came to Washington, DC in 1969 as a White House Fellow, after graduating from Harvard Law School. He served on President Richard Nixon’s White House staff for five years, including a year as deputy counsel on the president’s Watergate defense team. He has written three books and produced two documentary films, as well as an off-Broadway stage play about the internal prosecutorial documents he’s uncovered, many of which are posted on his website, www.shepardonwatergate.com .
In this interview Geoff and I discussed how Richard Nixon came to be the President, what actually happened in Watergate, and how law fare has changed American politics over the past 50 years. I hope you enjoy!
