Chip And Jo Love Your Money, Not Your Conviction.
A Weekly Look At The News Through The Christian Lens.
Shut Your Eyes And Ears, Peasant.
We’ve all been waiting since 2019 for the Epstein files. It’s been six years since Mr. Epstein mysteriously died in his prison cell due to what the elites called “suicide by hanging” — of course, most Americans, on the right and the left, know that that explanation is nonsense. Now, six years later, we have a President who promised the American people that he would release the Epstein files as soon as he was in office, and Attorney General, Pam Bondi, who claimed in February that the files were on her desk, and a feud between Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi about the mishandling of the Epstein files. So, what’s actually going on here?
It’s actually not very complicated — the reality is that the elite class in America does not want the Epstein files in the hands of American citizens. There’s been so much that’s happened surrounding this issue in just the past couple of days that it’s difficult to even follow the timeline and official narrative. But here’s what we know: in February of this year Pam Bondi said that she had lots of documents related to the Epstein case and that we should all “stay tuned”. We know that about a month ago both Kash Patel and Dan Bongino said in an interview on FOX that Epstein killed himself. We know that President Trump keeps releasing strange statements on Truth Social saying that we just need to move past the Epstein case and that nobody really cares about Epstein anymore. And we know now that the Wall Street Journal released an article saying “Jeffrey Epstein’s Friends Sent Him Bawdy Letters for a 50th Birthday Album. One Was From Donald Trump.” — in the article the WSJ claims that Trump sent Epstein a card for his birthday with a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman, that included this line: “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
So, here is the reality that everyone knows: the entire ruling class in the United States are all on the Epstein client list — Republicans and Democrats alike — and none of them want the list to be released because it would be self-incriminating and would upend the ruling order and probably begin a rapid decline towards the total destruction of the American Empire. Rules for thee but not for me doesn’t work very well for very long in politics — Americans can be very forgiving, but a decades-long sex trafficking scandal that involves the vast majority of the elites in Hollywood and politicians in Washington would surely cause an uprising.
What will happen next? I’m not sure. There is a lot of pressure surrounding this exact issue and the MAGA movement is fracturing quickly! It’s almost like “big tent” Conservatism doesn’t actually work… It’s almost like Conservatism needs to be rooted in an objective set of values and principles and not in the whims of a billionaire whose been divorced twice and doesn’t give much care or thought to the millions and millions of babies being murdered every year. I’m not saying Trump isn’t doing good for this country — he absolutely is — but he’s always been a liberal. The battle between the Right and the Left for the past decade has had almost nothing to do with principles and values; it’s had to do with preference to particular types of temperaments and the degree to which one subscribes to the liberal dogma.
Chip And Jo Love Your Money And Hate Your Values
Chip and Joanna Gains announced this past week that they’re releasing a brand new show on Max called Back to the Frontier. Before I get into the controversy surrounding this show, I want to talk about how much I hate the idea that this show is birthed out of. The entire concept of the show is that modern people are brought back to the 19th century pioneering days — cosplaying the Oregon Trail video game from 1974 (not really, but kind of).
There is a problem with the general idea behind the “trad movement” — that is that this strange cosplay fetish is really not at all similar to the 1800s in any way, shape or form. It’s actually almost the exact opposite. First of all, in the 1800s women didn’t have little boxes in their pockets all day long that they would use to vainly film themselves and their children to post on imaginary online social spaces for dopamine hits and attention. This fact alone basically separates the entire “trad” movement from the 1800s reality because, as it turns out, in the 1800s women spent time actually raising their children, cooking, cleaning, and volunteering in the church — this contrasts the fact that the average Gen Zer (many of whom claim to be “trad”) spend more than eight — yes, e-i-g-h-t — hours a day on their phone.
Do you see the deep irony here? The 1800s were full of hardship, death, pain, sickness, and dirt. Not the clean, pretty, nice, and aesthetically pleasing allusions of the 21st century. Let’s think for a moment though. Which culture was more fulfilling, the modern one or the culture of the 1800 pioneering days? Which culture produced more children? Which culture had more churchgoing people? It’s almost like modern materialism has ripped the meaning and purpose out of life. Instead of seeing the beauty in the pain and hardship of pioneering life, the trad movement sees a romanticized and fake aesthetic rooted in a the rotten philosophy of materialism that they don’t even know they believe in because of their cultural fetish and inability to stray from modern societal death traps and trends (I digress).
But what do Chip and Joanna Gaines see? They take away from the 1800s what any materialistic modern thinker would: an aesthetic. Culture? Values? Meaning? Purpose? Religion? No no no — just give me the modern romanticized and historically inaccurate looks and “vibes” of the 1800s.
It’s important that they leave the culture of the 1800s in the 1800s too — it would not benefit their pocketbook to bring that into the modern romanticization, right? If you remember, in the 1800s black people were slaves for the majority of the century — perpetrated by Democrats in the south — something the Gaines did not include in their own show. Another thing the Gaines did not include is the fact that homosexuality was both legally and culturally looked at as an abomination (you know, the thing Christianity teaches) — this would contrast their having gay men in the show who have confused themselves into thinking they’re married. Further, buying and selling children in the 1800s (unless they were black) was not acceptable — of course, the Gaines LOVE the idea of buying and selling ALL children, not just black ones. So loving and inclusive. Even further, having two gay men pay a woman to carry their baby for nine months in her womb would probably have gotten you hanged in the town square. Did Chip and Joanna include that in the show? Yes… but not the hanging part.
It really is like clockwork. Chip and Jo have been showing us their true allegiance to liberalism and sexual immorality for years. Remember when Target was pushing transgender ideology on children and Chip and Jo, having a line of home goods in Target at the time, stood up and said “Absolutely not! We are Christians and cutting children up and putting clothes on them that are for the opposite sex is dehumanizing and evil and —” wait, never mind, they never said any of that. They just shut their mouth and kept making money off of Target.
So, what about this show actually encapsulates the 1800s? Is it merely the aesthetic? The look? The feel? I think so — it’s obviously not the culture, values, or history. This question begs a deeper question: what about Chip and Joanna Gaines actually encapsulates the Christianity that they claim? Is it merely the aesthetic? The look? The feel? I think so — it certainly is not the doctrines, truths, and history. To them Christianity and all it stands for can be easily reduced to a rustic, 19th century, barnyard “vibe”. One that grabs the attention of white, suburban American women who read their Bibles once a year on Christmas.
And while Chip decided to go on X and blast Christians for being “hateful” because they have convictions rooted in historically accurate and Biblically faithful truth, the reality is that Chip and Jo never really cared about Christian values to begin with. They saw an economic engine, that is, the Evangelical church in America. They saw a business opportunity and they took it — and good on them for the business savvy strategy — I hope they find that it’s everything they ever wanted. As we must say to those within the Evangelical machine that have sold out their own souls to Satan for a little bit of money and fame: for what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
I genuinely ask this to Chip and Jo. Do you really think this ideology you’re pushing on families and children is good? I’m afraid you do — and for that, you’re really sorry, sad, and miserable people. An eternity in hell awaits those who lead Christ’s flock astray.
Dr. Scott Jensen Is Running For Governor In Minnesota.
I have to write on this because I know Dr. Scott Jensen and I was a part of his campaign for Governor in Minnesota in 2021-2022. Yesterday, Dr. Jensen announced that he is running again. It’s actually very sad what’s happened in Minnesota over the years. What was once a booming economy with startups like Best Buy, Target, and Fitbit has turned into a crime ridden, lawless, and immoral cesspool of evil.
The Twin Cities are not what they used to be. The suburbs are not as clean, the people are beat down, and the current administration is possibly the most corrupt in the United States. I personally am not entirely confident that a Republican can win in Minnesota. Tim Walz and his people have that state on lock down and, it seems, are willing to do literally anything to stay in power.
Jensen has the best shot at taking the Governor’s Mansion with name recognition and likability. His policies are not overtly Conservative as he’s a Minnesotan and the political landscape is mostly progressive. I imagine he will aim at taking on a more libertarian platform; being much weaker on issues like abortion and being more focused on the economy and trying to pull in union workers in the same way Trump did in 2024. Will it work? I’m doubtful. I think it continues the ever growing suspicions within the Republican party related to its values and purpose. Are the Republicans for or against free market capitalism? Are they for or against abortion? Are they for or against gay marriage? Nobody knows.
I have mixed feelings about Jensen’s run in MN — I wish him the best, but Minnesota is going to need a miracle to even slightly turn red in 2026.
What to read…
This week I want to recommend a book to you that I am currently reading—so take this with a grain of salt (it’s a classic, so I think I’m safe)— East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I am only halfway through this book, but it’s an incredible American classic. The book explores themes of good and evil, family sin, the issues between fathers and sons, and the American spirit. The book parallels the Biblical Cain and Abel story through multiple generations of one family — exploring the paradoxical reality of providence, free agency, and mystery. It truly is an American classic, and one that everyone should read. Steinbeck puts at the center of the story a truth that is rooted in Biblical doctrine: that though we desire a perfect place to live — our own Eden — the reality of life is that in this world we’ll only ever be able to struggle just East of Eden as we strive for the sinless and perfected world that God had given us in the beginning.
